Aviation security challenges and technological opportunities were discussed at a major national workshop at CAAB.
On Monday 29 December 2025, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) organised the event, titled ‘Challenges and Opportunities in Aviation Security’, at the Civil Aviation Academy.
Key discussions focused on critical areas including airport security, passenger and baggage screening, and cargo safety. Experts also addressed growing global concerns like cyber threats and insider risks. Workshop emphasised the need to comply with international standards, specifically ICAO Annex 17.
In the key-note paper presented on “Challenges and Opportunities of Aviation Security in Bangladesh” by aviation expert Mr. Prasanta Kumar Chakraborty, Director of the Civil Aviation Academy Bangladesh highlighted the potential opportunities to strengthen national aviation security through emerging technologies and trained human resources.
Event saw active participation from aviation professionals, concluding as a productive learning session. Such initiatives are crucial for Bangladesh’s airports to maintain global safety standards and passenger confidence. Implementing a robust, integrated security framework was a central conclusion from the day’s talks.
The workshop was attended by high officials from Civil Aviation Security Division of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Air Force, Airport Police, Airport Immigration, Airport Customs, National and Private Airlines.
